RII 2005-010-07 Meet the Characters
Because I was unable to post a cartoon last week, I posted two cartoons this week. Ironically, they're both about animals. I think that part of the reason for that, is that animals are innately funny. How else do you account for the success of Garfield (R), the Muppets (R) and the aliens in that movie about all the aliens? You know the one. What was it called? Oh yeah, Alien 3.
Now that was a feel good ride let me tell you! Any movie with a tagline like "The bitch is back" has to be good. I prefer, however, one of the other taglines better. "3 times the suspense. 3 times the danger. 3 times the terror". It's like they are basically telling you, that you'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only need the edge.
It's been a while since I've done any movie reviews. That's because it's been a while since I've seen any movies. I did see a good one recently though. Serenity. If you were a fan of the Firefly series, or if you have a sense of humor and like seeing people with attitudes and women who can kick ass, then this is for you. If you're not one of those people, maybe now is the time to crank the Sinatra, and cry yourself to sleep. Overall 3.5 out of 5 stars. That's like a B-. The sort of grade you can live with.
Misfortune cookie say: "Flesh eating insects from a far distant world will soon come and, appropriately, devour the flesh from your bones". Hence the name. If they we're friendly little cake making insects, they probably would have called them that. Unless they were the same assholes who named Greenland.
